against the earth

Lie for a while, with your ear...

Look!

I've been wanting red heels for ages now. Then about two weeks ago Sher tells me she's considering buying a pair of heels from eBay. And when she showed me them...I fell in love immediately. I've never thought to look for red heels with buckles. It gives the shoes a Mary-Jane-all-grown-up look. Hot red, but still cute.

Minor issue with it is that one side was slightly unstable. Oh well that's the drawback of buying online, but if you've got a good seller, you can easily get another pair or a refund. I'm getting a new pair soon.

That above is my Cupcake Sweater, as Ping has dubbed it. When I took it out to show Sher, she told me that she has another sweater of a different design but with the same colours as mine! Even the arrangement of colours was the same. I got this sweater in Shanghai. I was wandering around without any real intention to buy anything while everyone else was shopping. Came across this hanging in a shop selling jumpers. I couldn't resist. I had to have it.

Yes, my hair was so messy and unkempt, I pulled off the hobo look effortlessly. Hobo who collects change to buy Chatime.

I'm leaving Melbourne in a month's time. Leaving for good. I am very very sad about this. I will miss you, Melbourne. So much. I will miss your weather, your street style, your coffee, your gorgeous laneways and quirky cafes, your bicycles, your dodgy suburbs, your trams. Everything lah. Not to mention you're keeping one of my bestest friends here, among many other friends I will truly and dearly miss.

with your silhouette

I'm sleeping in my bed...

Hello :)

I have a bowl of steaming tang yuan in front of me. I know it's not the season for tang yuan, but I just felt like eating it. I bought some frozen glutinous rice balls with sesame filling from the Asian grocery.

Declined clubbing tonight cause I don't feel like going out. I feel slightly mopey! And all I want to do is to have a hot shower without having to put make up on, pick out a dress and walk around in heels...after that glorious shower. My back hurts from lugging around my laptop on my back the whole day. Ouch. So yes, I came home about 8:30 PM and made a healthy dinner of stir fried chicken breast and steamed french beans. Read a bit of Hitchhikers' Guide while eating and then switched over to Criminal Minds. But I didn't even get through half of that Criminal Minds episode.

Just feeling mopey. Thinking about this assignment I currently have is making me nervous. I haven't bought my ticket home. I have to do laundry. I want to go to the gym, but I can't cause it's closed. I keep typing 'cuz' instead of 'cause' and I have to keep backspacing to change it. (I'm trying to start using cause instead of cuz.) I went back to Hitchhiker's Guide but I couldn't concentrate on that. I started thinking maybe I should have gone out tonight instead, take my mind off things, just throw myself into the beats. But then again, I have to meet someone early tomorrow and it wouldn't do at all to show up hungover or tired.

Mope mope mope.

So I decided: I'm going to make tang yuan.

I took out the tang yuan I bought from the store, made the sweet ginger soup, boiled them all up,  and poured it into a bowl.

I love tang yuan. I'm going to shower after this then maybe read a book or do some work. See how I feel after a good hot shower :)

Have a good Thursday night!

p.s.: From 6:50 PM this evening till now, 10:55 PM, I have received 131 (one hundred and thirty one) email notifications from Big W notifying me that my photo order is ready to be collected. Must be a system glitch. Irony is that I have received all these multiple notifications for ONE photo, why yes I printed just one photo, which cost me AUD 0.12. Oh look, another three emails just came in while I was typing out this postscript.

this place

I concede that you were right about...

Starting off with two backdated photos...

#1 Dinner at Squires Loft City Steakhouse

Half of the table, taken from my point of view.

My dinner :) Wagyu rump, medium-rare-but-came-out-medium

#2 Some photos of mocha from this week

With a little bacon and egg pastry in the background :)

Oli & Levi's coffee is alright, but I guess I like Famish'd better.

I usually get my coffee from Famish'd, a rather popular salad bar on Little Collins. Famish'd uses St Ali's coffee beans and I think their coffee is pretty good.

Dark chocolate mocha from San Churro

Last Tuesday I took my book out to QV's San Churro to read and have a warm cup of dark chocolate mocha :)

#3 Last Saturday - Dinner at The Deck, Southbank

The girls at the dinner :)

Sher and I had been talking about organising time for us to be able have dinner and dress up. So we rounded up a few good friends for a catch up session and omnom, dinner was had by all.

Starter sharing platter - shared by Sher, TW, Audrey and Loong

The food there was pretty good. I had a duck sausage entree and the grilled lamb rump for my main. I loved both of my dishes. I was really happy with my lamb rump, especially since I could satisfy the lamb craving that I had been having.

#4 This recent Friday - Melbourne Supper Club

Studded heels which I've had for awhile now.

Another place I've been wanting to try because I've heard good reviews about their sticky date pudding. I tried it, and while I think I liked it because I love cakes in general, nothing really stood out about this one. It was a sweet dessert for sure haha.

I think I enjoyed their meatballs much more. We also ordered some churros which weren't all that good, and some polenta chips.

#5 Yesterday

Bento lunch @ Kaneda - salmon sashimi set

I really want the floral one. But I spent too much on that day already :(

Home cooked dinner with Ping & Sher.

Ah look! My first full fledged home cooked dinner with a guest this semester! Haha I've either been eating out or cooking simple meals for instead of having rice with two dishes, a vegetable and soup all nicely served up. WP cooked all the dishes. I only made the soup, but that's ABC soup and there's next to no skill involved in that ahaha :)

#6 Today

Woke up at 2 pm today (yes, I know, I feel disgusted with myself too). I don't know how I managed to sleep 11 hours. I'd say it's 10% flu medicine, 10% being sick, 30% rain and cold, 50% lazy ass.

So three hours later (now), I have transferred photos, read some blogs, written this post and thought about studying. Everyone is super stressed about exams, yes? I should be getting into gear too. Yes, I should. I'm too chill. Last semester is coming to an end.

i won't go

 I could leave but...

#1 Dessert story

Not from this particular weekend. From last week's visit to Dessert Story with Sher.

From Saturday night after Rooftop Bar.

#2 The Avengers @ Chadstone

 On the train to Chadstone.

 Right before the movie

#3 Rooftop Bar on Saturday night.

So Shaun called for a meet-up with CH and I. I suggested Rooftop Bar because it's on my Food List!

Double Day Burgers w/ Fries - delicious.

Late realisation: no photo of Shaun and his friend, Daniel!

But there's a photo of CH cause I was testing settings.

And there's a photo of me cause CH was testing settings.

We moved to be closer to this hot mama.

Rooftop with lights and a view.

Get yer yummies here.

Burger man.

I didn't get a good look at this one.

10 Things

  1. I see my reflection in the mirror in front of me, my face illuminated by the light from my laptop screen.
  2. The bed is comfy and the sheets smell fresh.
  3. The pillow smells like my shampoo.
  4. My old Samsung is on my left, flipped open to the homescreen wallpaper of my sister holding a kitten.
  5. I hear laughter of people from another unit coming through my window.
  6. There is a pile of clothes on my desk chair. (I should clean that out tomorrow.)
  7. The keyboard of my Macbook Pro feels smooth underneath my fingers.
  8. My mind drifts away as I type - I'm so sleepy...a good kind of sleepy.
  9. My heater blows hot, dry air at the general direction of my feet.
  10. I'm going to turn off the heater, pull up my hoodie and huddle under the comforter.
Goodnight!

that keeps me waiting

Oh oh oh, I got a love...

Did 5 km on the treadmill today! Yes, I fully agree that it isn't the same as outdoor running. Outdoor running is much harder. However, I do most running/jogging/rogging? on the treadmill anyway since its so convenient and some cardio is better than no cardio. It's hard for me to get myself up and running in the park if I'm running alone.

I had a some sushi for dinner and after the treadmill and workout I had a deliciously sweet Fuji apple. God, I love apples. Ping decides at 10 PM that she'd like to make some fried wontons so I helped her with that. A pretty good light snack, even if it really is a rather unhealthy snack :P

*****

I had a super nerdy dream last night. Dreamt I finished an assignment and was super happy because I was productive. I woke up and  obviously that was a dream wth. Then I went to lecture and the lecturer told us that he had just posted up the assignment question to the portal this morning.

Foreshadowing, dream style. At least I know for SURE I will be finishing the assignment!
